About Katherine
As soon as I turned 18, I packed my bags and left the Central Dallas area where I grew up. Austin was calling my name, and I feel so lucky to have landed in a place that fits me.
I was a non-traditional student, starting off at a community college and then taking a class in social work as an elective. That elective changed everything.
I knew from that moment that I had found the path I wanted to travel. I began my pursuit of a career in the field and graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work from Texas State University. Once I graduated, I started working in public mental health.
I worked with the most severely mentally ill in Travis County helping to keep them out of institutions and in the community. After a few years, I knew a Masters was necessary to pursue a career in counseling. I went back to school while continuing to work full-time and completed my Masters in Social Work also from Texas State University.
I am beyond honored to join people on their path toward recovery and change.
While this process can be daunting sometimes, I also know and believe that therapy can be fun and uplifting. This is especially true when both therapist and client are focused on creating a real change by focusing on meaningful outcomes and a fulfilling process.
Working for over 14 years in the field of mental health has afforded me the opportunity to work with individuals from all walks of life and helping them to feel fulfilled and that their life is worth living is a passion of mine.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
My high praise for a practitioner who goes above and beyond.
My first experience in intensive outpatient therapy was enhanced by the giftedness of one of your primary therapists, Katherine Weitl out of Central Texas. She possesses a level of thoughtful resolve and tact that informs every element of her work. I've worked with professionals in other fields who carry great responsibility but lack sound stewardship of how to manage what has been entrusted into their care. Mrs. Weitl carries herself with full awareness that what she says and does matters; and she leads first and always with humility and hope. Oh, how we all need hope more than ever. My life has been greatly enhanced by her influence.
Katherine, the human
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, crafting and exploring outdoors with my husband, little girl and pup. I am also passionate about music and dance of all types and grew up a classically trained ballerina.
